An arch from Roman times and the huge and once-controversial water tower built in 1883. This water tower is the largest surviving one in Britain.

The English lyrics for ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ was written by Jane Taylor in Colchester in 1806 (although the melody apparently comes from an older, anonymous French folk tune from the mid-1700s)
